Balance Bikes

The presentation will focus on Balance bikes. The theory behind using Balance bikes to teach students how to ride a two wheeled bike. How balance bikes work, how you can incorporate them into your bike riding curriculum, how to collect data on students progress and improvements using video data collection, and checklists. A brief description of how our DAPE program secured the Education Minnesota Foundation Grant monies to purchase the bikes, and open discussion for various funding options. This presentation will focus on the benefits of using balance bikes within an adapted physical education biking curriculum to assist students in their learning of how to ride a two wheeled bike with increased independence and confidence at an earlier age.
