2015 MNDAPE Conference

This presentation will emphasize evidence-based teaching practices that result in functional and meaningful outcomes for students with autism spectrum disorder. Evidence-based practices demonstrates research-supported practices that are effective in teaching students with disabilities. For students with autism, best practices include: technology-aided instruction and intervention, video modeling, visual supports, social stories, structure and routine, and many others (Wong et. al, 2013) that will be demonstrated. Other considerations that impact learning and manipulated by the teacher including sensory, communication, and behavioral support needs will be addressed.
