Greg Lukshaitis is the 2015 SHAPE America Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year. He is a Michigan native, who has been working in Oregon as a full time Adapted PE Teacher since 2007. Greg works for the Beaverton School District and is part of the highly successful Motor Development Team. This team works together to provide quality instruction, and is comprised of Adapted PE Teachers, Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists. Before moving to Oregon, Greg attended Western Michigan University. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, as well as his Master’s in Adapted PE. In addition to his training, Greg's credits much of his success teaching APE to his mother’s struggles with progressive Multiple Sclerosis and his own challenges with Severe Dyslexia. It is because of these struggles that Greg is committed to creating a class environment where individuals are supported, successful and challenged.
