Kathleen Happel graduated from Manhattan College in New York City with a degree in Physical Education. She received her Masters degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in Adaptive Physical Education. She has been teaching in this field for over 24 years beginning with the School District of La Crosse where she taught Specially Designed Physical Education for 5 years. Kathleen then began teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and has taught there for the past 19 years in the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Coaching. She has taught 25 different courses in the department and coordinates the adapted physical education licensure program. Kathleen is currently pursuing her PhD. in Curriculum and Instruction focusing on physical education for the blind and visually impaired. Her passion is endless in the field of adapted physical education.
